Dr. N. Arunkumar is a distinguished consultant psychiatrist and the Director of Athma Mind Care Hospital. He boasts an impressive educational background, holding an MBBS from Bangalore Medical College (2000), an MD in Psychiatry from BJ Medical College Ahmedabad (2005), where he received a gold medal in Psychiatry from Gujarat University, and a DNB in Psychiatry (2007).

Since 2006, Dr. Arunkumar has been a key figure at Athma Mind Care Hospital, contributing significantly to its growth and success. His extensive clinical expertise is complemented by his role as a postgraduate teacher for DNB Psychiatry from 2008 to 2016, where he played a pivotal role in mentoring future psychiatric professionals.

Dr. Arunkumar is actively involved in several psychiatric associations. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the IPS South Zonal Branch (2022-2024) and previously held the position of Treasurer for the Indian Psychiatric Society-Tamil Nadu Chapter (2017-2021).

His commitment to mental health extends beyond his roles at Athma Mind Care Hospital. Since 2006, he has been working with Trust Shantivanam, a rehabilitation home for homeless individuals with mental illness. His dedication to holistic and innovative mental health care is evident in his interests in rehabilitation, art, and psychiatry.

In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Arunkumar is a co-author of Psychiatry Simplified, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the field. He also actively raises mental health awareness through various channels, including FM radio, school and college lectures, and public awareness programs.
