Dr. Arunkumar Nagasundaram serves as the Director and Consultant Psychiatrist at ATHMA HOSPITALS, Tiruchirapalli, with over two decades of clinical experience. He specializes in a wide spectrum of psychiatric care including Neuro Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry, Community Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, De-addiction and Psycho Social Rehabilitation, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

He received the Gold Medal in Psychiatry from Gujarat University (2005) and has been a DNB postgraduate teacher (2008–2016). He leads mental health services at Shantivanam Rehabilitation Home for homeless persons with mental illness since 2006.

General Secretary of the Indian Psychiatry Society (IPS) Tamil Nadu chapter (2025) and has held leadership roles including Treasurer IPS TN chapter and IPS South Zonal Branch. He is also Academic Coordinator for MRCPsych (since 2022). Languages: English, Tamil.
